Bontebok Nature Reserve and Swellendam - 10 August 2020 Bontebok National Park is a national park in Swellendam, South Africa. It was established in 1931 to ensure the preservation of the endangered Bontebok. The park is part of the Cape Floristic Region, which is a World Heritage Site. It was windy and raining but we spotted: Bontebok Pintailed Wydah Karoo Prinia Brimstone Canary Female Masked weaver Southern Masked Weaver Southern Double-Collared sunbird Jackal Buzzards mating Malachite Sunbird Egyptian Geese Ducks Most beautiful fynbos and scenery. Sunset and sunrise pictures were taken from a communication tower on a hill. We were able to see the entire town from there but it was cold and windy so we were unable to take perfect pictures. Pictures of Sulina Faerie Sanctuary, the play area was closed due to covid-19 restrictions in level 3. Most restaurants were closed due to covid-19 except for popular Lilly's Restaurant. Most definitely a place to camp or visit in summer.
